Systematic quality management leads to success

November 12, 2019, 13:40 - 14:40 with Anne-Charlotte Holmgren, SIQ, Maija Möller, principal Fredrikshov Slotts Skola, recipient of the Quality Award Better School 2018 and Maria Pettersson, principal Falu Frigymnasium, recipient of the Quality Award Better School 2016.

Several schools show that systematic quality work really leads to better results, both for students, school staff and society at large. SIQ - On behalf of the Swedish National Agency for Education, the Institute for Quality Development provides research-based advice on the success factors that lead to world-class schools and conducts evaluations of those schools that want to receive thorough feedback. Learn more about these five success factors, and listen to concrete examples of successful schools that have participated in the Better Schools Quality Award.

13 November 2019, 08:50 - 10:10 with Sara Lewerentz, digitalization and technology director Region Västerbotten and Jacob Hallencreutz, CEO EPSI Rating Group.

Digitalization places new demands. What are the needs for change in healthcare and how can we succeed? Digital solutions and innovations are an important part of meeting tomorrow's challenges, and Region Västerbotten is at the forefront of this work. When county councils become regions, assignments increase, areas of responsibility expand and work tasks in the business change. What are the success factors for driving change and how do you make the change last over time?

Quality 5.0 - leading and managing for success in a turbulent world

November 14, 2019, 08:30 - 09:50 with Mats Deleryd, CEO of SIQ and Jacob Hallencreutz, CEO of EPSI Rating Group.

A fast-moving world places new demands on innovation and change, but we are not there! Managers and employees are increasingly unhappy at work, trapped in old structures and approaches. Engagement is stifled, making organizations ineffective. This worrying societal trend is emerging as the great management challenge of our time. Declining job health can have a significant negative impact on competitiveness and business performance. What needs to be done to unleash the power that is actually there and develop leadership for sustainable success?

Increased process maturity and greater customer value

November 14, 2019, 10:10 - 11:30 with Maria Viidas, former senior project manager SIQ, now Propia, and representatives from the municipalities that have been part of the network's work during the year; Botkyrka, Hammarö, Skövde, Säffle, Tyresö and Vaxholm.

During the year, one of SIQ's municipal networks focused on the process concept and how we ensure that the processes create the value that was intended. Process maturity analyses have been carried out to guide the direction of, and follow up the impact of, the improvement work done during the year. During the seminar, we will find out whether process maturity has increased, what the effects have been and what lessons and insights the participants have gained from the work.

More and better care through innovation

November 14, 13:10 - 14:10, A2, with Maria Klingberg, Project Manager Collaborative Healthcare Region Västra Götaland and Thomas Ekblom, Chief Physician and Head of Section Inpatient Care at the Orthopedic Clinic Västmanland.
Moderator: Anne-Charlotte Holmgren, SIQ.

By thinking in new ways, the Orthopedic Clinic at Västmanland Hospital and NU Healthcare in Västra Götaland have delivered more and better care. In Västerås, 90 percent of patients undergoing planned orthopedic surgery can go home the day after the procedure. This means that more patients can be operated on and no patients have had to be sent home on the day of surgery due to lack of space. In the sparsely populated Fyrbodal region, collaborative healthcare has meant that patients can receive care before the ambulance arrives. Home care nurses are alerted via an app and can intervene immediately.
