We are now inviting 29 municipalities to use our AI-based tool, AInsikt, to improve efficiency and quality in welfare
The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise's latest report, Efficiency in Sweden's Municipalities, highlights an important issue: Sweden's municipalities can free up to SEK 91 billion through better resource utilization - without compromising on quality. SIQ - The Swedish Institute for Quality Development welcomes the initiative to shed light on efficiency and now offers a research-based support, SIQ Insight, which can help municipalities take concrete steps towards a more sustainable and quality-driven business.
"This is a great opportunity for Sweden's municipalities to not only save money, but also to create real value for citizens through smarter quality work," says Susan Ballhausen Bjelke, CEO of SIQ.
The report focuses on economic governance and efficiency but lacks important perspectives on social and ecological sustainability. Efficiency must not be achieved at the expense of the quality of welfare, the working environment in municipal operations or the long-term environmental impact.
To support municipalities in this work, SIQ is now offering 29 municipalities - 10% of Sweden's municipalities - to use our AI-powered analysis tool SIQ AInsikt free of charge until April 2025. The tool provides an in-depth analysis of the municipality's strengths and areas for improvement, making it easier to prioritize the right actions.
"We want to contribute to a long-term solution where municipalities not only become more efficient but also more sustainable in a broad sense. The AI tool is an important part of our offer, but we are also here to support the entire quality work, from analysis to implementation", says Susan Ballhausen Bjelke.
Efficiency is about more than economy - it's about quality and sustainability
The report from the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise shows that municipalities with good economic governance and effective management processes are more successful. SIQ Insight helps organizations identify how resources can be put to best use, how quality can be improved and how sustainability aspects can be integrated into operations.
By using SIQ Insight, municipalities can:
- Optimize resources by making evidence-based decisions about where interventions make the most sense.
- Focus on quality and innovation to create the welfare services of the future.
- Engaging employees and citizens and strengthening citizens' trust.
"Efficiency improvement is not just about reducing costs - it is a matter of systematically working with quality and innovation to strengthen municipalities' ability to develop value over time. With SIQ Insight, municipalities get a research-based method to develop their operations in a sustainable way," says Anders Fundin, research leader at SIQ and professor at Mälardalen University.
Now we invite municipalities to lead the way
SIQ's mission is to strengthen both Swedish competitiveness and welfare through systematic quality work. We are now inviting 29 municipalities to become pioneers in a new way of working with quality and efficiency.
Members of the SIQ in categories 5 and 6 can also receive this offer.
The criteria for participation are that you should have a clear purpose for using Awareness. The decision must be anchored at management level.
