The leadership challenge

Surely you recognize that you face many different challenges in your business. It can be anything from new markets, summer staffing, digitization, sick leave figures, new products, daring to let go of the old, and staying motivated in a changing world.

And what is the answer? How do you know what the right action is, how do you avoid having your whole day filled with making quick decisions with your spine? Becoming the hero of the day here and now, and feeling that you are not enough to work in the long term?

There is clearly an answer, and it is not easy! Many of us in charge of an operation are recruited on our ability to solve problems that arise, to actively manage the situation.

But maybe your job is not to govern?

Perhaps your task is to lead others by building a robust system, a system that stands firm in the face of change. Challenges that arise can be solved by dedicated, motivated employees who are responsible for the day-to-day management of the business. Employees understand your 'why' - the value you create for those you serve. They are also empowered to see their results, analyze, develop better ways of working together, and confidently test and implement new solutions.

Leadership is about setting the course, being clear and unwavering about the focus of the activity.

At SIQ , we believe that the guiding principle is to work with the five success factors: creating value with customers and stakeholders, leading for sustainability, involving motivated employees, developing value-creating processes and improving operations and creating innovations. As a leader, you need to know how you are working in each of these areas, and focus on the areas that need to be strengthened.

In order to know what needs to be strengthened, we offer at SIQ several different evaluation options, where you can get answers on your strengths as well as your main areas for improvement. The most comprehensive of these tools is the Swedish Quality Award. In the coming year, we will work with you to further develop these tools.

Take this opportunity too, either to evaluate your (or someone else's!) business and/or to participate in the development of the evaluation tools. At the same time, you will develop your ability to lead your organization towards ever greater success, to stay the course when the storm hits!

Please read more about our development project and contact me if you want to contribute to the development of the Swedish Quality Award!
