The transition to a sustainable society is high on the agenda. Our latest research shows that more and more businesses are now striving for economic success without sacrificing environmental or social factors. Businesses seem to be taking the lead in sustainability and innovation, with customers eager to see change.

The pandemic has accelerated the quality challenges faced by businesses at an unprecedented pace. At a time of political challenges, it is the business community that is driving the development. The last decade has seen incredible technological development. Today, for example, renewable energy is at the same cost level as fossil fuels. The rapid development of technology, together with customers' increased demand for sustainable solutions, now provides an enormous force in the transition to a sustainable society. A force where we have only seen the beginning ...

Leading businesses see a wider context. The customer orientation remains, but the perspective has broadened to include more key stakeholders such as employees, suppliers, partners and society at large. This holistic approach to quality and leadership issues is necessary to achieve sustainable success in a new era. The need to show the way to long-term success has never been greater.

Sustainability issues are often discussed from a macro perspective based on abstract global goals and principles. The solutions, however, come from a micro perspective where customers demand sustainable solutions to concrete problems and needs. Sustainability work thus becomes a natural part of the business and operational strategies of successful businesses and organizations. Moreover, these successful organizations not only focus on today's customers and stakeholders but also see future generations as customers and stakeholders already today. Stakeholder-driven development has historically proven to be a very strong driving force and largely explains the focus of the transition to sustainable development today. SIQ's support for sustainable development is based on stakeholder-driven sustainability development.

The solutions come from a micro-perspective where customers demand sustainable solutions to concrete problems and needs.

Svenskt Kvalitetsindex, which is part of the SIQ Group, has been studying customer experiences in Swedish organizations since the 1980s. We know from these model-based market studies that customers now increasingly choose suppliers who take social responsibility and strive for sustainable development. Now we are taking the next step. In the future, the Swedish Quality Index will also measure the sustainability dimension as an explanatory variable for customers' choices. In this way, we can visualize how different customers' needs, requirements, expectations and behaviors seriously drive sustainable development in Swedish organizational life.

At Almedalsveckan Play on July 6 at 9-11, we will present our thoughts on the development of the quality concept to Sustainable Success together with the Swedish Quality Index and several guests. Hope to see you on air then! Follow us here in our four seminars where the first one focuses on the reasoning above;
