The fire takes over and we start making more and more ill-considered decisions, decisions that make our staff think we have lost our minds. Time runs out and we start running in different directions, no one seems to know where the goal is.

Suddenly everything stops and it's like a vacuum; it's the Christmas holidays. The management team breathes and tries to rest on each side. After the New Year, we regroup, stand back to back again, take a last breath and turn on the water. The break is over.

Something must be done, but what?

Suddenly we are missing two. Erika and Lena couldn't take it anymore and now we are two men short. We have a hole and the fire is taking over. Something has to be done, but what? Why does the business not work, what is it that prevents us from creating sustainable solutions? And why is there not enough time?

Now we have the answers to those questions and the answers have been given to us by learning the SIQ management model. The management team still stands in a circle, back to back, the hoses are exchanged for processes and the fires for involved motivated employees who together with us want to contribute to the development of the business. The management team's full focus is to create value together with those we exist for.

The meaning of the word value has landed in our training process as well as the main process. That process will be designed to produce predictable results that stand the test of time, to identify the root causes of problems and to ensure that we all make fact-based decisions. Decisions that are based on facts and not opinion or quick, ill-considered solutions.

Soon we will be the best adult education in Sweden.

We at Adult Education in Gävle municipality are only at the beginning of our quality work, but already now we feel confident that this will work. 2020 will be our year and soon, very soon, we will be the best adult education in Sweden.
